Description

Schematic charts will be used to show where in the supply chain reviewers go, and what they are supposed to receive and deliver. Their tasks and focal points will be shown by means of practical checklists and automation processes.

Translators who are starting their professional careers and those who want to make more out of their abilities and possibilities.

For PC-based Users:

• Required: Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server
• Required: Internet Explorer® 7.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 3.0 or newer or Google™ Chrome™ 5.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
• Internet Connection Required: Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection
• Recommended: Dual-core 2.4GHz CPU or faster with 2GB of RAM (recommended)

For Mac®-based Users:

• Required: Mac OS® X 10.5 – Leopard® or newer
• Required: Safari™ 3.0 or newer, Firefox® 3.0 or newer or Google™ Chrome™ 5.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
• Internet Connection Required: Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection
• Required: Intel processor (1GB of RAM or better recommended)

To Use VoIP (microphone and speakers or headset):

• Required: Fast Internet connection (384 kbps or more recommended)
• Required: speakers or headset (USB headset recommended)
• NOT required: Microphone - attendees can communicate with the trainer through incorporated chat.

Recommendations

• For the visual section of the training course, we recommend that you have a 64kbps link. This means using an ISDN line or Broadband. Wireless connection is NOT recommended.
• For the audio section of the training course, we recommend that you have a headset or speakers.
• We recommend that you log in 30 minutes in advance of the start time to prepare for the training course.

Courses will be open half an hour before the start time. Please login before the start time to ensure that everything on your system is working correctly.

Early payment is advised in order to secure participation. Allow some time for payment processing if you are paying by wire transfer.

Luciana Ramos

Bio: Se graduó como traductora técnico-científica y literaria e intérprete en Rosario, Argentina. Es traductora en inglés certificada por la American Translators Association de los EE. UU. Con especial énfasis en la traducción de textos de biomedicina, trabajó desde 1996 hasta 2005 para diversas empresas multinacionales en el área de la medicina y la traducción de programas informáticos. En los últimos diez años, su experiencia como traductora y correctora se combinó con la tarea de formación de nuevos profesionales gracias a su incesante participación en cursos y seminarios internacionales relacionados con la traducción médica. Desde 2005 a junio de 2011 fue socia de Ocean Translations S.R.L., donde su labor se centró en la selección y formación de personal, el análisis y la implementación de las nuevas tecnologías, y el control de calidad. Participó en los trabajos de traducción para la OMS, la OPS, el Banco Mundial, ONUSIDA y muchos otros centros de investigación y desarrollo biomédico. Actualmente se dedica a la traducción como profesional autónomo, a la formación de traductores, y al asesoramiento empresarial en traducción y tecnologías afines. Ha publicado artículos en las revistas Panacea y Multilingual sobre las tecnologías, la traducción médica y la profesión en general.
