The monks have been addressing the problem for centuries, being essentially removed from the typical active life, not unlike a home-cloistered freelance translator (or small-office-cloistered, if he owns one). In fact, St. Benedict's rule has been of quite some interest to entrepreneurs. Just food for thought.

Or, well, the army. But I think cloistered scribes are closer to what we do and how we live, except perhaps those of us who exercise a lot and interact a lot with others in business.
