Of course, many of the offers we receive in our inboxes are for very low rates, but for me that's just one of the many services the platform offers. When you start your career, you get a lot of information on the site, the forum in particular is very useful. You can also access different training courses (I have done a few, most of them were very high quality). When I first started, I answered a lot of Kudoz questions, which gets you listed higher up in the directory, which is very useful because you're then contacted directly by agencies and direct clients looking for translators. I have a few direct clients who found me on ProZ.com, I've been working with them for a long time and they offer very good rates. I don't use the site as much as I used to, but I would definitely recommend it to someone starting out as a translator. In summary, it's a useful tool for translators, as long as you take the time to look at everything it has to offer and use it to your advantage (KudoZ, directory, training courses). It won't do you any good if you just sign up and wait for something to happen, but that's true of a lot of things Oh, one last thing, I came to Translation Mastermind via ProZ.com, and I'm grateful for that.
