Source text - Hungarian Lehet, kritikusaimat nem nyugtatja meg, de a felgyülemlett élményanyag feldolgozását a megszokott stílusban folytatom. Egy meglepő fordulatokban bővelkedő, csöppet sem szórakoztató nap története következik. Olyan napé, amely az emlékezés távoli ködébe veszett emlékeket idézett fel és újabb áldozatokat követelt. A fájdalmat illetően ismét jelentős mértékben kijjebb tolódott az ingerküszöböm.
Az előzmények tükrében talán nem meglepő, hogy a tüdőmön felbukkant pöttyök eredetének tisztázása céljából megismert diagnosztikai eljárást radikálisnak ítéltem. A sebészeti konzílium eredményét csak telefonon tudtam közölni kezelőorvosommal. Vele abban állapodtunk meg, hogy legközelebbi kontrollvizsgálatom alkalmával egyeztetünk, s addig előterjeszti a problémát az orvoscsoport napi rendszerességgel megtartott egyeztetéseinek valamelyikén, én pedig eltöprengek a kockázati tényezőkön.
Laikus számára sem igényel akadémiai szintű anatómiai jártasságot, hogy belássa, bordákat törni, mellcsontot fűrészelni élsportoló esetében sem kockázatmentes mutatvány - tekintetbe véve korabeli fizikai állapotomat, esetemben mindez hatványozottan igaz volt. Ezt szűkebb körben végzett közvélemény-kutatásom is igazolta – még legvakmerőbb cimboráim is óva intettek a beavatkozástól.
Translation - English Perhaps it will not calm my critics but I continue processing the accumulated experiences in the usual style. Following is the story of a day full of surprising and not even the least amusing events. A day that evoked memories lost in the haze of distant past and demanded newer victims. As for the pain, my tolerance level has increased significantly.
In light of past occurrences it is perhaps not surprising that I deemed the diagnostic procedure to clarify the origin of the spots that appeared on my lungs radical. I could inform my doctor about the result of the surgical evaluation only by phone. We agreed to consult again during my next checkup and that in the meantime he would submit the problem during one of the usual consultations held daily by the medical team while I mull over the risk factors.
Not even a layman would need to possess academic proficiency to realize that breaking ribs and sawing breastbone is not without risk even for a top athlete - considering my age and physical condition, all these were exponentially true in my case. This was substantiated by the poll I conducted in my immediate circle - even my bravest friends advised me against the treatment.
