English to Chinese: Molecular transport of aromatic solvents through microcomposites of natural rubber (NR), carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber (XSBR) and their blends General field: Science Detailed field: Materials (Plastics, Ceramics, etc.)
Source text - English Transport properties of aromatic solvents such as benzene, toluene and p-xylene through micron sized fillers reinforced natural rubber, carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber and their 70/30 blend latex membranes were investigated. The effect of penetrant size, filler loading and temperature on the diffusion properties were studied. The dispersion of filler in the matrix were analysed from scanning electron micrographs. Due to the lack of polymer/ filler interaction aggregation of filler was higher in NR. The filled samples showed reduced swelling rate owing to the tortuosity of the path. A dramatic decrease in diffusion coefficient of filled samples was observed. However, blend system exhibited unexpected diffusion behaviour because of the immiscibility of the two components. The activation energies for diffusion of the penetrant were computed from the Arrhenius plots. The activation energy needed for diffusion of penetrant was found to be higher for filled virgin polymers. The transport mechanism was investigated and found that all systems exhibited non-Fickian anomalous behaviour.

Bio
I grew up with a great interest of reading literature and writing articles. While studying at high school, Chinese was always my strongest subject. Although the creative writing is not my strong field, I am very proud of my ability to produce science project reports with logical and detailed explanations. As mathematics and physics are also my strong subjects and my own interests in materials, I decided to study material science and engineering for better career opportunities. After finishing my bachelor degree in Taiwan, I went to the UK to do my postgraduate study for the reason not just to get a degree but also to experience different cultures. I stayed in the UK for nearly four years and eventually I decided that the UK is not the country for me and I moved to Czech Republic in 2010.
As a foreigner, it has not been easy to find a job that is related to my study. Through my friend’s introducing, I started to work on the on-site software localisation testing projects in Prague in December 2010. During my first testing assignment, I found out that I am able to promptly adopt the whole testing procedure and blend in the testing team. It was a great experience for me so when I got another opportunity for some other projects, I delightedly accepted it. After working on several localisation testing projects over the past three months, I really love the dynamic of the job and I enjoy the mixture of working as a member of a team and working individually. I also had some opportunities to work on translations on site and through these experiences I discovered my own potential in the translation field.
As the major of my study was materials science and engineering I am familiar with technical terms in this field and I can effectively adopt technical terms in related science and engineering fields. I was working on the English-Simplified Chinese pair when testing and translating on-site. I am able to work on translation assignments on English-Simplified Chinese and English-Traditional Chinese pairs. For me, working on translation is not just about getting the job done. It is about completing the task with fine quality. I am always proud of my own proficiency in details and my determination to achieve perfection. Therefore, I believe that I can provide excellent translation as well as software localization testing services.
