agree  Ford Prefect: It's a clumsy wording because it would allow the recruitment (however unlikely) of someone with less than 30 days life expectancy due to a concomitant condition.

  -> thanks, but they're actually listing criteri di esclusione, meaning that recruitment is *not* allowed

I read it as saying the 'pharmaceutical' is not to be administered if there has been any sign of a common blood-borne/based disease/illness/malady within the last 30 days.

rapporto s.f. relation, relationship; connection: mettere un fatto in rapporto con un altro, to relate one fact to another // in rapporto a, in relation to (o in connection with o with reference to)

The list of criteria seem to be cut-off points for testing/using the drug:

...age limit, pregnant, time since last noted blood based illness... .

I used "blood-borne/based disease/illness/malady" above only to not influence the translator - they can interpret the significance of 'hematological" any way they want. All of these are still related to the blood independent of their mechanisms.

neutral  SJLD: there is a vast difference between a blood-borne disease and a disease of the blood (malattia hematologica)
16 mins
  -> Thanks for the medical lesson - the word 'borne' doesn't appear in my actual answer for that very reason. 'borne was one of five words lumped together to cover various illnesses related to blood. Not sure why you focus on only one of the five. But TY

disagree  Ford Prefect: This is referring to the/an underlying disease - and almost certainly the indication being studied.

  -> Thanks for your opinion

neutral  Lirka: with SJLD, plus I would not hyphenate and would use singular instead of plural (illness).
