I can't think of a specific equivalent accounting term in English, so I have sought a term which is descriptive (if not official).

Essentially, instead of recognising a cost/expenditure over several years (because it has a beneficial economic impact over several years), they have accelerated recognition of that expenditure charging the remaining expenditure to the current year.

I can't think of a specific equivalent accounting term in English, so I have sought a term which is descriptive (if not official).

agree  Grey Drane (X): Yeah, I think the use of "stralcio" here mucks things up in the Italian text (as does the redundant "minusvalenze su oneri"), but this is how I understand the situation, too.

  -> thanks, yes it is basically a "reversal" but that is superfluous in English...especially with the other elements of the sentence alongside

  -> yes, it does. See Grey's comment. It is minus because it is a reduction in a capitalised expenditure on the balance sheet (matched by a charge to P&L)
