In England angekommen, findet Fadwā bei einer englischen Familie Unterkunft, nachdem sie die ersten Tage als Gast bei Fārūq in Oxford verbracht hat. Um ihren Aufenthalt in England verlängern zu können, schreibt sich Fadwā am St. Clare’s College und danach an der Swan-School in Oxford ein. Fadwā verliebt sich während ihres Englandaufenthaltes. Shaken in her literary self-consciousness and with the feeling of being imprisoned in a self-imposed isolation, Fadwā decided to take a trip to England in the hopes of opening up new horizons . . . Arriving in England, she found accommodations with an English family after spending the first days as a guest in Fārūq’s house. In order to be able to extend her stay in England, Fadwā registered at St. Clare’s College and, after that, at the Swan School in Oxford. She fell in love during her stay in England.
