I just passed a trial test from a translation agency in China.
They asked me to send them copy of my ID or passport for the contract.
I asked if I could cover sensitive numbers and they said they need the whole copy.
Is this really necessary? does anyone have similar experience?
data phishing and the agency may be involved in criminal activities; I would not touch them with a barge pole. China obviously has not introduced a strict data protection legislation and transferring to them your sensitive data is dangerous.
